CAIRO - 21 August 2017: The legendary Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will perform for the first time in Jordan at Oval Forum, the Archeological site of Jerash. The concert will be held on September 18 and is organized by Friends of Jordan Festivals.

Bocelli is an international classic crossover tenor, and has attracted many music lovers to the beauty of classical music. His performances have been attended by presidents, artists, and popes.

Bocelli's musical career comprises more than 15 solo studio albums and nine complete Operas, and he has sold over 80 million records worldwide to date.

His musical efforts are not exclusive to classic music but also touch on the modern scene. Artists such as Celine Dion, Sarah Brightman, Ariana Grande and Nicole Scherzinger have cooperated with Bocelli in either live performances or recordings.

He received numerous awards such as the Classic Brit Award for the International Artist of the Year in 2002, World Music Award for World’s Best Classical Artist in 2010, and Golden Globe Award for Best Original song in 1999.

He was also awarded the Medal of Presidency of the Italian Republic in 2006. In 2010, Bocelli attained a star on the Walk of Fame.
