CAIRO – 18 August 2017: ‘Playback Theatre Night’ will be held at Dawar on August 25.

This ‘Theatre Night’ is a part from Dawar monthly theatrical events.

Improvisation is the key word of this theatrical form. The process of the performance consists of a communication between the audience and the actors on the stage.

The audience tell or introduce a personal experience, then the actors re-act it on the stage, according to the official event’s page.

‘Playback’ theatre is considered a part from improvisational theatre, which is a modern theatrical form. The performance based on a spontaneous dialogue, characters, plot and conflict.

It is influenced with more modern theatrical forms as psyhco-theatre and drama therapy, in addition to folk literature as folk story telling.

The aims of ‘Playback’ theatre are various. Mainly, improving enjoyable theatre based on multi voices, documentation of certain situations, self expression, psychological therapy and education.

‘Playback’ theatre currently is introduced in more than 60 places around the world.

In the Middle East, there is a school for Playback theatre teaching and training.

The ‘Arab School of Playback’ theatre programs are held in different Arab countries as Jordan, Egypt, and Lebanon. In addition, they organized workshops in India.

Dawar is a cultural place, specialized in theatre and its branches as psycho drama, theatrical performance, and using drama in healing.

The activities are headed by professional experts. It also organized a number of drama workshops.

The place provided Arts exhibitions and a number of cultural events.
