Polish film ‘The Last Family’ to screen at Balcon Heliopolis

CAIRO - 17 August 2017: Drama film ‘The Last Family’ (Ostatnia Rodzina) will screen at Balcon Heliopolis on August 21.

The movie, which was produced in 2016, is about a Polish surrealist painter called Zdzisław Beksiński who was born in 1929 and was famous for acquiring a unique sense of humor.

His son Tomasz is a traditional radio DJ and translator, responsible for the Polish version of the ‘Monty Python’ films. Zdzislaw and his wife Zofia, who is a devout Catholic, attempt to prevent their son from hurting himself.



The film won several awards from the Chicago International Film Festival, Denver International Film Festival, Lisbon & Estoril Film Festival, and Locarno, among others. It has also participated in various local and international festivals.

Directed by Jan P. Matuszynski, the film stars Andrzej Seweryn, Dawid Ogrodnik, and Aleksandra Konieczna.
