‘Egypt is stronger with its youth’ competition to begin

CAIRO – 16 August 2017: The general secretary of Supreme Council for Culture, Hatem Rabea, announced the start of ‘Creativity in the face of terrorism’ competition for youth aged 17 to 35 years on Tuesday.

The competition is held under the light of the keenness of the Ministry of Culture to provide talented youth an opportunity to show their creativity to the cultural community as part of the Supreme Council for Culture events.

The competition includes 10 categories namely, poetry, short story, scenario, novel, theatrical text, animation, documentary film, plastic art, song, and research on terrorism: causes and solutions.

Rabea announced that there are three prizes for each category:

The first prize is for LE 5,000 ($281.7) and a certificate of appreciation; the second is worth LE 3,000 and the third is for LE 2,000.

In addition, the Supreme Council of Culture shall publish the winning works in the fields of literature as part of its “Talents” series and shall cooperate with the concerned sectors of the ministry with regard to the winning scripts.The Council shall also organize an exhibition for the winning plastic arts works. The last day to submit entries for the competition is September 24.
