CAIRO – 16 August 2017: On her 59th birthday, Madonna’s most iconic singles automatically come to mind, and our favorite selection of these to celebrate her birthday are: ‘Papa Don’t Preach,’ ‘Like a Virgin,’ ‘La Isla Bonita,’ ‘Open Your Heart,’ ‘Into the Groove,’ and ‘A Material Girl.’

The ambitious artist has shaped the taste of generations all over the world through her distinguished beats that have made people want to dance and free their bodies. Madonna’s music is feature irresistible sensual themes that are normally controversial, delivering certain messages in each phase of her career.

Her messages focus on all possible taboos in society, and attracting fans all over the world. Born in Michigan, the singer has also embarked on a path in acting and dancing as she received a dance scholarship to learn ballet and pursued her dancing career in New York.

Madonna left to New York with only $35 in her pocket for survival needs and worked as a waitress once she arrived while pursuing her studies. She later formed her own band with musician Dan Giroly called The Breakfast Club, where she joined as a vocalist who played guitar and drums.

Promoting herself to the music scene as a solo artist, Madonna has managed to record singles with Sire Records that became major hits in the US.

Her style of bleached hair, and numerous bracelets, became one of the female fashion trends of the 1980’s. Her second Studio Album ‘Like a Virgin’ in 1984 gained her global recognition.

Despite many attempts by moralists to ban the album for promoting explicit manners, the album has topped the charts in several countries for six consecutive weeks.

Madonna is an artist who was brave enough to stand the fight against the rigid principles of society and challenge their social norms.
