CAIRO – 15 August 2017: Several of Bollywood's biggest stars took to Twitter to celebrate the 71st anniversary of India's Independence Day on Tuesday, August 15. India's split from Britain also resulted in the creation of Pakistan and the establishment of India as free from colonial rule, rising against their oppression to finally attain freedom. Amongst the stars to celebrate was Shah Rukh Khan.

Khan is best known worldwide for his role in the 2010 post-9/11 drama film 'My Name is Khan,' and has enjoyed a rich and successful career up from a humble start in TV. Another actor to have celebrated is Mahesh Babu, known as a superstar in India's Telugu Cinema and is known for his roles in 'Dookudu' and 'Business Man.'

Actress and winner of the Miss World 2000 Pageant, Priyanka Chopra, is another big Bollywood star who expressed her national pride on Twitter. She is known for films such as the Indian superhero tale 'Krrish' and this year's remake of 'Baywatch.'
