CAIRO – 12 August 2017: Five of Vincent Van Gogh's iconic sunflower paintings will come together in a new digital exhibition on Facebook next Monday, August 14. The exhibition is the joint effort of the five museums that host the paintings separately:

London's Natural Museum, Munich's Neue Pinakothek, Philadelphia's Museum of Art, Amsterdamn's Van Gogh Museum and Tokyo's Sompo Museum.

Though the five paintings haven't been in the same room for over a century, this Facebook exhibition will finally reunite them, even if not in a physical sense.

This will also be the first time that art museums from across different continents will come together through the internet to showcase works of art as if they were all in one space.

The live exhibition will include a speech by Van Gogh's great grandnephew, Willem Van Gogh.
