CAIRO – 9 August 2017: Minister of Culture Helmy Al- Namnam attended the closing ceremony of the third Shebin El Koum book fair at Shebin El Koum Stadium in Menoufia on Tuesday, August 9.

“I feel pleasure for holding the third Shebin El Koum book fair and for the great number of audiences that attended the book fair,” said Al- Namnam.

“With science, thought and culture, we could conquer retardation, darkness and terrorism. We hope that someday we will see book fairs not only in every center or city, but also in every village,” added Al-Namnam.

In addition, Egypt needs to spread culture in every place, and Menoufia has a great history of culture, arts and literature, as it provides lots of intellectuals and writers of Arab and Egyptian culture, stated Menoufia Governor Dr. Hesham Abdel Bassat during the closing ceremony.

At the end of closing ceremony, the Ministry of Culture and Menoufia governorate honored the late translator Talaat al-Shayeb.

The Ministry of Culture is seeking to organize book fairs in all Egyptian cities with the aim of achieving cultural justice, said Al-Namnam on Tuesday.
Al-Namnam inaugurated the Third Book Fair of Shebin El Koum in the Shibin El Koum Stadium on July 28.

The inauguration was attended by Dr. Hisham Abdel Basset, Governor of Al-Menoufia; Dr. Mouawad El Khouly, President of Al- Menoufia University; and Dr. Haitham El Haj Ali, Head of the Egyptian General Book Organization.
