CAIRO –8 August 2017: The restoration of Uthman ibn Affan’s rare copy of the Holy Quran has been finished sources at the Ministry of Culture told Egypt Today on Tuesday. The copy is one of the rarest in the world, one of only four from compiled during caliphate of Uthman ibn Affan.

The Egyptian National Library and Archives, affiliated with the Culture Ministry, is planning a press conference on August 20 by Minister of Culture Helmy Namnam, Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed al-Tayyeb and Minister of Religious Endowments (Awqaf) Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa, according to the sources.

Other rare copies of the Holy Quran are under restoration by the National Library and Archives, including Sayyida Nafisa’s copy of the Holy Quran. Professionals working on the restoration of the rare copies of the Holy Quran are also taking accurate photos for reproduction and public viewing, the sources added.
