Seminar highlights essence of Lebanese art integration in Egypt

CAIRO – 7 August 2017: The "Lebanon Through Alexandrian Eyes" seminar was held in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina library on Tuesday, with the cooperation of the Consulate General of Lebanon.

Presenting 18 paintings on Lebanese and Egyptian life, the seminar was led by Mohamed Hilal, Alexandria University's Fine Arts Dean.

Also present was artist Khaled Hanou, the key speaker for the seminar and artists of the paintings, and Mostafa el Feki, the director of the BA.

Hanou spoke in length about his artistic life and development, displaying the most important artworks in the past 27 years, and explained what influenced his choices.

Amongst the other people who attended was the Consul General of Lebanon in Alexandria, Osama Khashab, multiple artists, public figures and intellectuals, and several international Consul Generals. The seminar truly represented the coming together of Egyptian and Lebanese cultures, united through art.
