CAIRO – 6 August 2017: General Authority for National Library and Archives headed by Dr. Ahmed Shawky organized a workshop to inform children about the heritage of Egypt at the Center for Documentation and Research of Children's Literature from August 6-7.

The workshop coincides with the year of Egyptian identity chosen by Shawky as a title for the plan of the activities of General Authority for National Library and Archives in 2017.

The workshop includes centers for realization of heritage and research of literature of a child that simplifies the information about heritage and important characters in Egypt’s heritage such as Hassan Ibn al-Haytham with his discoveries, Al-Makrizy and his writings alongside the difference between a document and a manuscript.

The role of the National Library in publishing the heritage and training workshops for developing the awareness of a child will be included in the workshop.

At the end of the workshops, accredited certificates will be given to participants.
Center for Documentation and Research of Children's Literature, inaugurated in 1988, is the first center to care for child’s literature in different fields.

General Authority for National Library and Archives is the government research and cultural non-profit authority that aims to provide library services in Egypt and Arab world.
