Cinema El Hanager to launch African Cinema Club program

CAIRO - 3 August 2017: Cinema El Hanager is to launch its African Cinema Club program starting on August 5, according to a released statement by Cinema El Hanager.

The films that will be screened are those that won the 5th edition of the African Cinema Festival held in Luxor during 2016. The films will be followed by seminars conducted by Cinema Director Ashraf Faik and Critic Farouk Abdel Khalik.

The free-entry African films include 'Free State' by Sallas De Jager from South Africa, which won best artistic achievement for both Director De Jager and Cinematographer Tom Marias Sasc. Another film that will be screened is 'Mona' by Anthony Abuah from Nigeria.

Abuah’s film won the Grand Nile Prize for Long Feature Film.

Founded in 2014, Cinema El Hanager is located in the heart of the Cairo Opera House and has been known for screening and accrediting several local and foreign films.
