CAIRO – 3 August 2017: Tunisian TV star, Dhafer L'Abidine, who appeared in the 2017 Ramadan series “Halawat Al Dounia," (beauty of the world), is set to appear in Hulu's upcoming adaptation of the book “The Looming Tower.” The Looming Tower revolves around the 9/11 events.

Dhafer expressed his excitement to join the series’ crew, taking to his Twitter account he wrote, “I am very happy to join the new American series (Looming Tower).”

The series is adapted from Lawrence Wright's Pulitzer Prize-winning book chronicling the rising threat of Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda. It takes a controversial look at how the rivalry between the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) may have inadvertently set the stage for the tragedy of 9/11 and the war in Iraq, according to IMDB.

L’Abidine had also appeared in the films “Sex and the City 2,” “The Da Vinci Code” and “A Hologram for the King.”

The Looming Tower stars Tahar Rahim, Jeff Daniels and Alec Baldwin, and was written by Dan Futterman, who will executive produce with Alex Gibney (Going Clear) and Wright. Legendary Television will produce the series.
