Casey Affleck's wife Summer Phoenix files for divorce

CAIRO – 2 August 2017: Summer Phoenix, actress and younger sister to superstar Joaquin Phoenix, have officially filed for divorce from actor Casey Affleck.

As the Huffington Post reports, the couple had been split since March 2016, though only now have they decided to finally divorce.

Casey Affleck recently starred in this year's 'Manchester by the Sea,' which won him an academy award. He is the younger brother of actor Ben Affleck.

Phoenix is calling for joint custody with Affleck over their two sons, Indiana (Age 12) and Atticus (Age 9).

The two had been a couple since 2006, though they had known each other as far back as 1995 after Phoenix's brother introduced her to Affleck.

The exact reasons for the split have not been publically disclosed, though Phoenix cites irreconcilable differences.
