CAIRO – 2 August 2017: Four North Korean artists have anonymously joined a new exhibit at the UN in Manhattan, putting their lives at risk, the New York post reports.

With recent rising tensions in North Korea and the global community amidst increasing missile launches, this risky move comes as a way that North Korean artists can extend their hand towards international friendship.

The paintings include a woman in a traditional Korean outfit and a mother and her child kneeling. These provide a deeply human look at the people of North Korea, free of the propaganda they are forced to live under.

The exhibit, which opens on Friday, August 4, was organized by nonprofit Beijing organization Eye Art International.
