A documentary narrated by Nelly Karim and Nermine El Feki traced the journey of Egyptian women throughout history, culminating in what it described as an unprecedented era of empowerment under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. The documentary emphasized that Egyptian women have become key partners in building the New Republic and shaping the country’s future.

The documentary highlighted remarkable women from Egypt’s past, beginning with Queen Ahhotep I, who led the spirit of resistance against the Hyksos. The documentary also showcased modern-day pioneers, including Rawya Ateya, the first woman elected to Egypt’s National Assembly in 1957. It also highlighted Ibtisamat Mohamed Abdullah, the first Egyptian woman to attain the rank of First Lieutenant in the Egyptian Armed Forces.

The documentary stressed that under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Egypt has adopted a comprehensive vision for women’s empowerment, recognizing women as a vital national resource and an essential partner in development and safeguarding the state.

According to the documentary, this vision has expanded women’s participation within the Egyptian Armed Forces through specialized and technical roles.

The documentary also featured remarks by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, who said: “Egyptian women have always been the key to everything, the beginning and the end of every story, embodying generosity, patience, endurance, determination, and success,” reaffirming the high regard in which Egyptian women are held by the country’s leadership. The documentary highlighted the accomplishments of Egyptian women across sports, public service, and international representation.

It also focused on the role of Egypt’s First Lady Entissar El Sisi in supporting and empowering Egyptian women, describing her as a steadfast advocate for women’s issues and a strong supporter of increasing women’s representation across state institutions. The documentary included remarks by Entissar El Sisi, who said: “Wherever we look, we see the greatness of Egyptian women, women who are resilient, strong, patient, authentic, and deeply devoted to their homeland.”

The documentary concluded by affirming that the expanding responsibilities and leadership roles assumed by Egyptian women across state institutions reflect the vision of the New Republic established by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, a vision that places women at the heart of protecting the nation and shaping its future, alongside the continued support of First Lady Entissar El Sisi in creating new opportunities for women’s success and participation in all sectors.
