Hanan Heikal, Assistant Managing Director for Technical Affairs at the Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD), revealed that the company has been the official sponsor of Egypt’s national football teams for the past three consecutive seasons.

Speaking on the TV program Sahebat El Saada, hosted by Essad Younis on DMC, Heikal said it was only natural for ACUD to support the Egyptian national team by backing the Egyptian Fan Zone after receiving the proposal from United Media Services.

“Not everyone has the opportunity to travel to Canada, Mexico, or the United States, so we decided to bring the World Cup experience to the New Capital,” she said.

Heikal explained that after extensive planning, meetings, and technical studies, the company created a giant 2,000-square-meter screen, the largest ever installed in Egypt, along with a venue capable of hosting between 10,000 and 15,000 fans.

“The Egyptian Fan Zone had no previous model in Egypt. This is the first time we’ve created a fully integrated fan zone offering food and beverage services, entertainment, and games all in one place,” she added.

She also noted that the launch of the monorail shortly before the Egyptian Fan Zone opened encouraged many visitors to try the new transportation system.

“People were curious to experience the monorail. Even those who came by car parked and used it instead. Many celebrities also arrived at the Egyptian Fan Zone via the monorail, especially since the station is located directly in front of the Fan Zone entrance,” Heikal said.

Heikal has advised fans planning to watch Egypt’s FIFA World Cup Round of 32 clash against Australia at the Egyptian Fan Zone to arrive two to three hours before kickoff.

She encouraged supporters to come early to fully enjoy the Egyptian Fan Zone’s vibrant atmosphere, entertainment, and activities while also helping avoid traffic congestion and ensuring a smooth entry experience before the highly anticipated match.
