CAIRO – 31 July 2017: Prime Minister Sherif Ismail issued a decree authorizing the Ministry of Finance to mint silver commemorative coins on the occasion of the celebration of the 150 anniversary of Old Khedive Cairo.

Cairo celebrated on July 2 the 150th anniversary of Old Khedive Cairo through events carried out by local artists, the Opera House, and the Music Institution in Cairo. The events will all take place in Abdin Square, El-Alfi Street and El-Moez Street, according to a statement on Friday.

Old Khedive Cairo comprises of Ramsis, Tahrir, Opera, and Abdin squares.
Previous celebrations of the anniversary also included exhibitions and seminars to introduce Cairo's cultural, historical, and artistic importance.
