Egyptian world-renowned pianist Ramzi Yassa has been awarded the French Order of Arts and Letters, in recognition of his distinguished artistic career in music.
Ramzi Yassa is the first Egyptian pianist to win the Paloma O’Shea International Piano Competition, and the first Egyptian to record Beethoven’s piano concerto with the Cairo Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ahmed El Saidi.
He was also previously awarded the Liszt Centenary Medal, as well as Egypt’s State Award for Excellence in Arts (Music), which was given to a musician in performance for the first time.
He is currently a professor of music at universities in France and continues to perform with international orchestras.
