Egyptian dance icon Soheir Zaki passed away today after a battle with illness, having been hospitalized in recent weeks due to respiratory complications.
 
Zaki’s love for dance began early, as she entered the profession at just nine years old. Her passion and talent quickly set her apart, paving the way for a remarkable career that flourished throughout the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.
 
Over the years, she earned a distinguished status and was famously dubbed “the dancer of presidents and kings.”
