Egyptian stars shine at the Hollywood Arab Film Festival 2026, delivering a vibrant celebration of Arab storytelling on a global stage.

At the heart of the spotlight was Mayan El Sayed, who made a powerful impression at the opening ceremony with two films featured in the festival’s lineup. Marking a major milestone in her rising international career, she also took home the Best Actress Award for her role in Colonia (My Father’s Scent) from Malmo Arab Film Festival, solidifying her status as one of the most promising talents of her generation.

In one of the evening’s most emotional highlights, Mayan El Sayed stepped on stage to present the prestigious Aziza Amir Award to Riham Abdel Ghafour. The moment was a heartfelt tribute to a career defined by authenticity and unforgettable performances. Later, Riham Abdel Ghafour was seen outside the iconic Culver Theater, proudly holding her award in a moment that reflected both grace and recognition.

In recognition of his contributions, Hesham Maged was honored with the Excellence in Acting Award during the closing ceremony.

Hollywood Arab Film Festival granted the Egyptian short film “Alone” three awards: Best Short Film, Best Short Film Director, which went to Mona Dawoud, and Best Short Film Actress which was awarded to Latifa Fahmy.

The festival also granted Egyptian star Ahmed Malek the Best Actor Award for his role in Colonia (My Father’s Scent).
Adding to the cinematic presence, Ahmed El Saadany attended the opening with his film Love, Imagined, offering a unique storytelling experience that highlights the emotional depth of Arab cinema.
Among the standout appearances, Merhan Hussein added elegance to the opening night, completing a red carpet filled with charm and star power.
The festival closed on a high note with Bershama, a film blending humor with meaningful themes. The red carpet welcomed Hesham Maged Riham Abdel Ghafour and Mostafa Gharieb in a celebratory finale.
From breakthrough talents to celebrated icons, this year’s Hollywood Arab Film Festival once again proved to be a key platform connecting Arab cinema with the world.
