The Hollywood Arab Film Festival has announced that Egyptian star Mona Zaki will participate in its fifth edition, set to take place from April 17 to 20 in Los Angeles. Zaki will be attending the festival in a new role, marking her debut as a producer.
Zaki takes on this new experience through the short film Alone, which will have its world premiere in the festival’s short film competition, adding a new milestone to her artistic career.
The film is written and directed by Mona Dawood and follows an elderly woman suffering from dementia, struggling to both cope with and deny her condition. Meanwhile, her caregiver grapples with inner conflict and emotional distress, creating a deeply moving and human story.
This participation highlights Mona Zaki’s ongoing commitment to exploring diverse artistic paths and expanding her presence within the film industry beyond acting.
