Episode nine of the series Ras El Afaa witnessed a noticeable dramatic escalation. It opened with a flashback revealing aspects of Mahmoud Ezzat’s plans while he was inside prison, outlining his vision for the Muslim Brotherhood movements after his release, in a scene that shed light on how this terrorist group was managed during that phase.
The events then shifted to Mourad Ezz El Din arriving at the location of Montasser, Mahmoud Ezzat’s former aide, in an attempt to uncover leads that could guide him to Ezzat. A confrontation took place between them, during which Mourad pressured Montasser by confronting him with his crimes and his role in assisting Ezzat, demanding that he cooperate and provide information that could reveal his whereabouts.
The episode also highlighted the dominant and controlling nature of Mahmoud Ezzat’s character, portraying how he believed that members of the Muslim Brotherhood must obey him without question, and revealing that he had prepared a plan for the group’s return to power.
Amir Karara leads a stellar cast in Ras El Afaa that includes Sherif Mounir, Ahmed Ghozzi, Caroline Azmy, Mahmoud El Bezzawy, and Lobna Wanass.
The series also marks the return of veteran actress Magda Zaki to the screen after an absence of more than four years, alongside appearances by Mourad Makram and several prominent stars.
Ras El Afaa is written by Hani Sarhan and directed by Mohamed Bakir. Inspired by true events, the series tells a gripping story of confrontation against shadowy powers that threaten national security.
