Social media users hailed the scene in which Egyptian star Essam El Sakka honks at Israeli forces while aid convoys pass through the Rafah crossing in the series Sohab El Ard.
DMC TV shared a clip of the scene on Facebook, commenting: “A brilliant scene, Essam El-Sakka honks at the occupation forces, a honk whose meaning we all understand.”
Palestinian activist Khalil Abu Elias praised Essam El-Sakka’s performance during the aid delivery scene to Gaza. In a Facebook post, he wrote:
“In this scene with the man from Minya, Sohab El Ard shows the anger of Egyptians in general, and Upper Egyptians in particular, while highlighting their bravery in confronting the occupation. This actually happened with a truck driver who was provoked by the occupation and wanted to turn back the aid.”
Sohab El Ard addresses the humanitarian situation of Gaza’s residents after the October 7 war.
The series stars Eyad Nassar as a Palestinian man desperately trying to save his nephew amid the horrors of bombardment, while Menna Shalaby portrays an Egyptian doctor who arrives with a rescue convoy. In the midst of destruction, bonds of love, hope, and conscience are formed, and a human love story emerges from the tragedy of war.
