Sohab El Are series tells the story of Egypt and Palestine beyond the headlines.
The series lead Dr. Salma (Menna Shalaby) arrives at the Rafah border crossing during the events of Sohab El Ard, accompanied by a medical convoy heading to Gaza. On the Egyptian side of the crossing, she tries to persuade security officials to allow a special oxygen device to enter to help children, and eventually, they grant her permission.
The opening of Episode 1 of Sohab El Ard (The Land Owners)also features written documentary-style messages recounting the events that took place in Gaza and the Palestinian side following the October 7, 2023 war by the Israeli side. It highlights how Egypt played a significant role through medical relief convoys in treating many of the injured, especially children.
The series Sohab El Ard presents the events and facts related to Egypt and Palestine in a way that goes deeper than just news or headlines. In other words, it highlights the human story and real-life details that may not appear in regular media coverage, such as the stories of doctors, children, and relief convoys, rather than focusing only on superficial reports about the conflict or war.
Sohab El Ard ( The Land Owners) consists of 15 episodes and presents a collection of interconnected human stories that portray how hope transforms into a means of survival, resilience, and endurance amid the horrors of war.
The plot revolves around a love story that unfolds during the war in Gaza. It begins with an Egyptian medical convoy entering the Strip, while a Palestinian man struggles to save his son from death under heavy bombardment. Their fates intersect in a hospital, where powerful human bonds form among the characters.
Menna Shalaby portrays a compassionate Egyptian doctor who finds herself in extremely harsh humanitarian conditions. At the same time, Eyad Nassar plays a man torn by complex inner conflicts between duty, fear, and hope in an emotionally charged, tense dramatic narrative.
Sohab El Ard features a distinguished lineup of Arab and international stars, including Kamel El Basha and Tara Abboud, as well as a wide range of actors from Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine. The series is written by Ammar Sabry, directed by Peter Mimi, and produced by United Studios.
