Emma Stone set multiple Academy Awards milestones on Thursday after earning two Oscar nominations for 2026, one for Best Picture as a producer and another for Best Actress for her role in Bugonia.
At 37, Stone is now the second-youngest nominee in Oscar history to reach seven total nominations, and the youngest woman ever to do so. The only person to hit that number at a younger age was Walt Disney, who achieved it in 1936 at 34. Among women, the record was previously held by Meryl Streep, who earned her seventh nomination at 38 in 1988.
Stone also continues to redefine industry norms. She has once again been nominated for both producing and acting in the same film, making her the first woman to achieve this twice.
Frances McDormand was the first woman to earn dual nominations for a single film with Nomadland in 2021, followed by Stone’s own double nod for Poor Things in 2023. With Bugonia, Stone repeats the rare feat, further cementing her place in Oscar history.
