This honor is considered one of the most prestigious continental awards presented annually to celebrate excellence and creativity in African music.

The North Africa category witnessed strong competition among several prominent artists, including Amr Diab, Wegz, Hamza Namira, Cheb Momo, and Mohamed Ramadan, before Sherine ultimately claimed the award.
