King Thutmose II’s Tomb Discovery Named Among World’s Top 10 Archaeological Discoveries of 2025.
Archaeology magazine has ranked the discovery of King Thutmose II’s tomb among the top 10 most important archaeological discoveries in the world for 2025.
Located in West Luxor, the tomb is the first royal burial to be discovered since the unearthing of King Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922.
It is also the last missing tomb of Egypt’s 18th Dynasty kings.
Remarkably, the tomb yielded the funerary furniture of King Thutmose II, whose burial objects were previously absent from all museums around the world.
