Amir El-Masry Shares Intense Training Footage for ‘Giant’ as His Global Rise Continues

 Amir El Masry sparked excitement online after sharing a behind-the-scenes video from his boxing training for Giant, captioned: “Becoming Prince Naseem.” The film impressed audiences at the opening of the Red Sea International Film Festival, earning widespread acclaim.

 

 

Giant tells the extraordinary real-life journey of British-Yemeni boxing legend Prince Naseem “Naz” Hamed, charting his rise from modest beginnings to world-champion status under the mentorship of renowned trainer Brendan Ingle. Written and directed by Rowan Athale and produced by Sylvester Stallone, the film features standout performances by Amir El-Masry and Pierce Brosnan, leading a powerful ensemble in what promises to be a gripping cinematic experience.

 

El-Masry also appears at the festival with his film The Stories, which screened earlier at the 28th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. Starring opposite Nelly Karim, he takes on a central role in the Abu Bakr Shawky–directed drama, produced by Mohamed Hefzy and Shahinaz El Akkad.

 

His career momentum has been especially notable this year. The BFI London Film Festival saw tickets for both his films—100 Nights of Hero and Giant—sell out ahead of opening night. 100 Nights of Hero, which premiered to enthusiastic praise at the 82nd Venice Film Festival, features El-Masry as Jerome in Julia Jackman’s adaptation of Isabel Greenberg’s acclaimed graphic novel. The film boasts a strong cast including Emma Corrin, Maika Monroe, Nicholas Galitzine, and Richard E. Grant. Set in a remote castle, the film unravels a tale of intrigue sparked by the arrival of a mysterious guest.

 

On the television front, El-Masry has officially joined Season 2 of the hit American series The Agency: Central Intelligence, produced by Paramount+. He will portray Saeed, an Emirati intelligence officer, alongside Michael Fassbender, Jodie Turner-Smith, Jeffrey Wright, Katherine Waterston, Harriet Sansom Harris, John Magaro, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, and Richard Gere. Filming begins soon.

 

El-Masry’s acclaimed performance in the British film In Camera continues to earn recognition. The film, which premiered at the 57th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, also screened at the 45th Cairo International Film Festival, the BFI London Film Festival, and competed for the Sutherland Award.
