The short film 32B Mashakel Dakhlia (32B: Internal Troubles) is to premiere at the Carthage International Film Festival, presenting a touching narrative brought to life by Mohamed Mamdouh, Hana Shiha, Gehad Hossam ElDin, Jessica Hossam ElDin, and Ahmed Dash.

Written by acclaimed Egyptian novelist, screenwriter, and producer Haitham Dabbour — known for Photocopy, A Stand Worthy of Men, and the short film The Tale of Daye’s Family — 32B: Internal Troubles marks one of his newest creative works.

Directed by Mohamed Taher, the film delicately explores the emotional turbulence of a single father trying to maintain a connection with his teenage daughter as she begins to grow up. Blending tenderness with the uneasy humor that often accompanies parenthood, the story captures how love reveals itself in awkward, unexpected moments.

Taher, an MFA graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, draws on his experience from major Egyptian productions including Eshtebak, Eyar Nari, and Barra El Manhag, as well as his work as second-unit director on the TV series Lam Shamsia and The Seventh Year’s Itch. With this short film, he offers an intimate look at vulnerability, family bonds, and the small moments that define the parent-child relationship.

Produced by Safei El Din Mahmoud and Mohamed Hefzy, 32B is supported by Red Star, Film Clinic, Film Square, Blueprint, Digital Tales Productions, AF Production, and Domiah.
