A heartfelt moment as Sheikh Youssef breaks into tears after the judges praise his remarkable Qur’anic recitation, turning episode two of the Dawlet El Telawa program into an unforgettable scene.
The total prize value for Dawlet El Telawa reaches 3.5 million EGP. The two first-place winners in the recitation and tajweed categories each receive 1 million EGP, along with the honor of recording the entire Holy Quran in their voices for broadcast on the Misr Quran Kareem channel.
They will also be granted the prestigious opportunity to lead Taraweeh prayers at Al-Hussein Mosque during the upcoming Ramadan.
The program is presented in collaboration between the Egyptian Ministry of Awqaf and United Media Services, to discover new talents in Quran recitation and tajweed from across Egypt.
The preliminary rounds saw a remarkable turnout, with more than 14,000 contestants from various governorates applying.
Multiple selection stages narrowed the number down to the top 32 talents who will compete in the final episodes, overseen by a specialized scholarly committee from the Ministry of Awqaf, chaired by Dr. Osama Al-Azharī.
Hosted by Aya Abdelrahman, Dawlet El Telawa marks a groundbreaking step in supporting Quranic talent, reviving the authentic Egyptian school of recitation, and reinforcing Egypt’s longstanding role as a leading beacon of Quranic excellence and enlightened religious scholarship.
