The Nation of Peace celebration lit up the Opera House in the City of Arts and Culture at Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, in a spectacular evening attended by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The night celebrated Egypt’s unwavering role as a beacon of peace, unity, and compassion in a turbulent region.
The event opened with the screening of the powerful documentary “Salam Ya Masr” (Peace to You, Egypt), setting the tone for an unforgettable night filled with music, emotion, and patriotism.
The stage came alive with an extraordinary lineup of Egypt’s top artists.
At the Egypt: Nation of Peace celebration held in Cairo and attended by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, acclaimed actress and TV host Esaad Younis delivered a heartfelt speech paying tribute to Egypt’s unwavering commitment to peace and stability in the region.
In her address, Younis expressed deep appreciation for President El-Sisi’s steadfast efforts to safeguard Egypt and uphold peace amid regional challenges.
Amal Maher and Hamza Namira moved the audience with their heartfelt duet “Masr Heya Watan El-Salam” (Egypt, the Nation of Peace), while Ahmed Saad and Assala united their voices in a stirring anthem for harmony and hope.
In one of the evening’s most emotional moments, music icons Mohamed Mounir and Mohamed Hamaki shared the stage for a powerful duet dedicated to peace and solidarity with Palestine — a performance that drew thunderous applause from the audience.
Actor Mohamed Sallam reminded audiences of Sinai’s sacred legacy, calling it “the land that witnessed every chapter of Egyptian history” and “the holy ground where God spoke to Prophet Moses.”
In another moving performance, Nour El Nabawy and Ezzat Zein honored the Egyptian Armed Forces with a dramatic piece highlighting the values of duty, loyalty, and peacekeeping. Their performance paid tribute to the army’s role in defending peace rather than waging war — protecting the nation through strength and honor.
Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El-Tayeb delivered a powerful message reaffirming Al-Azhar’s full support for President El-Sisi, praising Egypt’s steadfast stance in defending Palestine and rejecting all attempts to displace its people. Echoing this sentiment, comedians Hesham Maged, Mostafa Gharieb, and Ahmed Ghozzi emphasized that “Egypt stood against the scenario of Palestinian displacement from the very beginning.”
The hall was filled with emotion as President El-Sisi warmly greeted a young Palestinian girl participating in the celebration — a heartfelt moment that captured the spirit of compassion and solidarity defining the evening.
Addressing the nation, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi delivered a speech that resonated deeply with the audience:
“I want to welcome you all and extend my deepest appreciation to the Egyptian people and to every artist who took part tonight. If we are to give thanks, then we must first thank God, the true source of all blessings.”
Reflecting on the challenges of recent years, he recalled,
“Two years ago, I said difficult days were ahead, and Gaza’s situation would be tough. It wasn’t easy facing decisions about whether people should stay or leave — such choices carry immense responsibility.”
The President affirmed Egypt’s moral and humanitarian stance, saying,
“What gave me strength was asking myself, are we truly acting in the best interest of the Palestinian people?”
He continued,
“The outcome of the Sharm El-Sheikh Agreement is nothing but God’s grace. His support means our cause is just and fair. We were confident in our ability to bring the Gaza crisis to an end.”
El-Sisi concluded with a message of unity and resilience:
“We have all worked tirelessly to end the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza, without injustice or overstepping against anyone. We are the nation that refuses to be defeated — and victory comes first and foremost from the strength of our people.”
The Nation of Peace celebration stood as a resounding affirmation of Egypt’s enduring commitment to peace — a celebration of art, faith, and national pride that echoed far beyond the walls of the Opera House.
