Egypt Film Commission Seals Landmark Partnership with Russia’s Moskino.

The Egypt Film Commission, part of Egyptian Media Production City, has signed a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Russia’s prestigious film body Moskino, paving the way for stronger cinematic ties between Cairo and Moscow.

The signing took place during the Moscow International Film Week, in the presence of delegations from more than 20 countries. The agreement was formalized by Ahmed Badawy, Managing Director of the Egypt Film Commission, and Georgy Prokopov, General Director of Moskino.

Under the MoU, the two sides will collaborate on promoting filming locations in both countries, streamlining permits and logistics for international productions, and exchanging creative and technical know-how through workshops and training initiatives. The partnership also opens doors to co-hosting festivals, film markets, and cultural events, enhancing international visibility and driving new investment into the industry.

The three-year agreement, effective immediately and renewable, includes the formation of a joint task force to oversee its implementation and monitor progress.

This alliance marks a major step in Egypt’s strategy to cement its role as a global hub for film and audiovisual production, while also supporting Moscow’s ambition to expand its cinematic infrastructure and foster international creative exchange.
