Fairuz Makes First Public Appearance in Years at Her Son Ziad Rahbani’s Funeral

 

Rahbani passed away on Saturday at the age of 69 after a battle with illness.

 

Ziad, the son of legendary singer Fairouz and late acclaimed composer Assi Rahbani, was one of the most influential and innovative figures in modern Arabic music and political theater.

 

He first gained recognition at just 17 when he composed the iconic song “S’aluuni el Nass” for his mother.

 

 

Over the years, Ziad carved out a unique artistic path, blending music, theater, and poetry to reflect — and often satirize — Lebanese society with unmatched wit and creativity.
