Following the recent controversy, Lebanese star Ragheb Alama revealed he’s been in touch with Egypt’s Musicians Syndicate and had a friendly phone conversation with Syndicate head Mostafa Kamel, in which they discussed the matter openly and respectfully.
Speaking on Studio Extra TV program on Extra News channel Alama said:
“I visited the Musicians Syndicate — a place I proudly consider my second home. I’ve been working with them for over 30 years without a single misunderstanding. If I were to be banned from singing in Egypt, that would be a harsh decision, especially since the whole incident was just a spontaneous moment with a fan, and it didn’t even happen on stage. Our job as artists is to bring joy to people — that’s the essence of music and live shows.”
He continued:
“As an Arab artist, I consider it my duty to support Egyptian tourism — especially in the North Coast, which I see as a true gem. I even bought a home there, and my sons love it.”
Alama concluded by praising Mostafa Kamel’s understanding, sharing that the Syndicate head told him:
“We know your history and your integrity — you have all our respect, as does your audience in Egypt.”
