The highly anticipated film Darwish, starring Amr Youssef, will officially premiere in Egyptian cinemas on August 13, following a four-week delay from its original July 16 release date.
The film features a star-studded cast including Dina El Sherbiny, Tara Emad, Mostafa Gharib, Mohamed Chahine, Khaled Kamal, Ahmed Abdel Wahab, and Mahmoud El Sarraj.
Written by Wissam Sabry and directed by Walid El-Halafawy, Darwish follows the thrilling adventures of a charming conman navigating a life full of danger and unexpected twists.
This marks the second collaboration this year between Amr Youssef and Dina El Sherbiny, after their recent film Shekko. Shekko debuted during the Eid al-Fitr season and featured a stellar ensemble including Mohamed Mamdouh, Amina Khalil, Mohamed Gomaa, and Walid Fawaz.
Yousra made a special appearance, and guest star Ahmed Fahmy also appeared. Shekko was also written by Wissam Sabry and directed by Karim El Sobky.
Meanwhile, Amr Youssef is filming El Selm Wel Te’ban: Le’b Eyal—the sequel to the beloved 2001 film El Selm Wel Te’ban, which originally starred Hany Salama.
The new installment is directed and co-written by Tarek El Eryan, with a cast that includes Asmaa Galal, Dhafer L’Abidine, Maged El Masry, Hatem Salah, Fadwa Abed, Heba Abdelaziz, Aya Salim, and more.
