A third installment of Mamma Mia is on the way. Producer Judy Craymer has revealed that development is underway, with the script already finished.
Many familiar faces from the beloved franchise, including Amanda Seyfried, Christine Baranski, Pierce Brosnan, and Colin Firth, are anticipated to reprise their roles.
Seyfried has shared her enthusiasm, saying she’s eager to be part of the project as soon as production begins.
There’s also growing speculation that Meryl Streep’s iconic character, Donna, could make a surprising return through a new, emotional storyline, despite the character’s fate in the last film.
In addition, rising pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter is rumored to be joining the cast, potentially playing a younger family member of Donna or a character connected to the next generation.
If all goes according to plan, filming could begin sometime in 2026.
