In a special ceremony, Egypt’s Minister of Culture, Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, awarded international Egyptian actor Mena Massoud with the ministry’s honorary shield and named him an official representative of Egyptian culture and arts abroad.
Dr. Hanno praised Massoud for achieving the rare balance between global success and deep-rooted national and cultural identity.
As a gesture of recognition, the Minister extended an official invitation to Mena Massoud to attend the upcoming Cairo International Film Festival as a guest of honor.
He also invited Massoud to participate in a variety of artistic initiatives, including workshops and theatrical projects, emphasizing that Massoud’s presence and collaboration with Egyptian creatives will further strengthen cultural exchange between Egypt and the world.
In response, Mena Massoud expressed his enthusiasm for working with the Ministry of Culture on several artistic projects, starting with theater.
He also shared plans to conduct workshops for young artists and highlighted his passion for creating works that reflect the richness of Egyptian identity, whether for local, Arab, or international audiences.
Massoud reaffirmed his commitment to producing Egyptian content—cinematic and dramatic—that celebrates the soul of his heritage.
