Journalists’ Syndicate Sets New Rules for Covering Celebrity Funerals

 

 

 

The Journalists’ Syndicate has announced a set of new guidelines for covering celebrity funerals in coordination with the Photojournalists Division and funeral service company SOKNA and in partnership with the Actors' Syndicate.

 

 

 

The syndicate will designate specific photojournalists for funeral coverage and assign coverage zones. A database will also be created for all journalists and photographers involved.

 

 

 

To ensure accountability, the syndicate—alongside the Photojournalists Division—will introduce digital codes on official press attire to identify and track violations.

 

This decision aims to protect journalists’ right to do their jobs while respecting the emotional nature of such moments and upholding professional and ethical journalism standards.
