Easter Spotlight: A Resurrection Icon from the Coptic Museum

To celebrate Easter, we’re highlighting one of the Coptic Museum’s iconic treasures that captures the spirit of the occasion.

 

 

This sacred icon, dating back to the Greek period, depicts the resurrection of Jesus Christ. At its center is the angel who rolled away the stone from the tomb, surrounded by the three women who arrived to find it empty.
