CAIRO -26 July 2017: The renowned veteran author and script writer Medhat el-Adl declared during his speech in the Fourth National Youth Conference that Cinema has the enough power to change the society, but gradually.

He pointed out that the Egyptian cinema prevailed the Arab World in terms of language and culture, because of the strong effect of the cinema.

Adl revealed that there were some attempts from 30 years ago to decrease the effect of the Egyptian soft powers which cinema is important part of it. ‘’ The governmental organisations now pay great attention to the cinema,’’he recounted. Adl added that the traditional form of the cinema in its way to extinction, in the near future the mobile phone will replace it.

‘’There are 75 illegal satellite channels that steal the Egyptian movies and screen them without having the rights to do so, the government should monitor those channels, because they severely harm the cinema industry,’’ Adl explained.

The Fourth National Youth Conference started on Monday, where President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi inaugurated the conference, which was attended by 1,500 1,300 youth along with parliamentarians, heads of unions and universities, journalists, public figures, and representatives of the National Council for Women and the National Council for Human Rights.

The three-day conference is addressing top national issues, particularly the economic reform.
