Director Tarek Al-Arian has officially announced that development is underway for the sequel to Tito.
In a recent interview, he shared, “The second installment focuses on the boy adopted in the first installment by Tito, who has now grown up after many years.
Notably, the sequel centers around Reda, the child played by Essam Youssef in the original film.
Now an adult, Youssef has left the entertainment industry and currently works in petroleum engineering.
Released in 2004, Tito follows the story of a man who, after spending years in a juvenile detention center for killing a police officer as a child, becomes entangled in criminal activities under a corrupt police officer’s command.
His life takes a dramatic turn when he meets a businessman who offers him a chance to start anew.
The original Tito starred Ahmed El Sakka, Hanan Turk, Khaled Saleh, and Diaa Abdel Khalek. It was both written and directed by Tarek Al-Arian.
