CAIRO – 25 July 2017: Comedy film ‘Playtime’ (1967) will be screened at Cinema Daal in Garden City on July 26.

Directed and written by Jacques Tati, the film revolves around Monsieur Hulot who wanders in Paris at a time when it is technologically advanced and plans to meet someone in a business meeting. Hulot’s journey comes in parallel with an American tourist’s journey in the city.

Hulot and the American tourist find themselves interested in each other later on when they go to a random restaurant and meet clumsy characters similar to themselves.
The free-entry film has previously won Best European Film Award in 1969 in Bodil Awards, moreover, the director was awarded the Silver Prize in the Moscow International Film Festival in the same year. The movie is starring Jacques Tati, Barbara Dennek, and Rita Maiden.
