CAIRO - 23 July 2017: The first edition of the Egyptian International Franco Arab Festival titled “I Love my Country” kicked-off with a unique blend of oriental and western music in Franco Arab style; the festival gathers several foreign and Arab artists on one platform and will be running from July 21 to 27 in Sharm El Sheikh.

Live music concerts will be staging the festival which will also feature two competitions including a 'Song Contest' and the 'Filmed Song Contest,' judging the best featured songs in 2016, according to a released statement by the festival’s official website.

The Song Contest will be featuring participating bands that have fully composed, written, and produced their own songs. The songs revolve around emotional, humane, and social matters. The jury will dissect contestants to 50 competitors where only five semi finals reach the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth places. The semi finalists will then be judged upon by audiences by 50 percent votes and the jury by the other 50 percent.

The Filmed Song Contest is the other festival competition involves choosing the best five filmed songs or video clips that revolves around new edged topics. The competition will allow 40 applicants who will be filtered to four semi finalists. The top winners will be chosen 50 percent by audience and 50 percent by festival jury.

Organized by the official Egyptian state TV channel, Liberated Systems Company, Hollywood City for Entertainment, and a group of dedicated youngsters, the festival aims to blend cultural entertainment with tourism, breaking down cultural barriers between participating countries.
