CAIRO - 7 April 2024: The star of the "Maleeha" series, Palestinian actress Sereen Khass, expressed her gratitude to President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi for his steadfast support of the Palestinian cause during the recent Iftar gathering of Egyptian Families.

"I extend my heartfelt thanks to United Media Services (UMS) for producing the 'Maleeha' series, which sheds light on the Palestinian cause," Khass stated.

Acknowledging Egypt's unwavering loyalty to the Palestinian cause, Khass commended the nation for leveraging its soft power through UMS to document the plight of the Palestinian people.

In its debut episode, "Maleeha" introduces viewers to a young Palestinian woman named Maleeha, living with her family in Libya and harboring the fervent desire to return to their homeland from which they were displaced.

This aspiration, Khass emphasized, is not a mere dream but an enduring right, firmly believed to be the most significant cause in the Arab world.

The inaugural episode of "Maleeha" features footage of Israeli military attacks on Palestine, chronicling the ongoing conflict and occupation, earning widespread praise following its screening.

Produced by United Media Services, "Maleeha" serves as a poignant portrayal of a Palestinian family residing in Sallum village, forced to navigate challenges and hardships as they endeavor to return to Gaza via Egypt amidst turmoil in Libya.

Renowned Egyptian star Diab makes his debut in a leading role alongside a stellar ensemble cast including Mervat Amin, Ashraf Zaki, Amir El Masry, Marwa Anwar, and Hanan Soliman.

Scripted by Rasha Ezzat El Gazar and directed by Amr Arafa, "Maleeha" delves into the history of the Arab-Zionist conflict, underscoring Egypt's multifaceted support for the Palestinian cause through compelling drama that advocates for the rights of the land's rightful owners.
