As much as Zionists want to claim that it all started on October 7th, using their social media and their influences to manipulate the truth, history never forgets that the apartheid in Palestine goes back to decades of oppression, genocide, mistreatment, and proper theft of Palestinian land and culture.
With over 140 days since the constant attacks against Palestinians brutally dropping missiles and using aggressive force, we’ve witnessed on social media the hideous side of the occupation and the racism inherited in zionist beliefs. Many generations across the world saw the awful truth of what Palestinians experience and witnessed the decay of the lies embedded by zionist propaganda, and with that, people started educating themselves not only about the apartheid, but the history of Palestine. From food, culture, clothing, and customs, people took to their social media to recommend movies to see to understand the apartheid and books for people to have a nuanced look at Palestine.
In the 55th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair, plenty of books are available for attendees to purchase that talk in great length and detail about Palestine, here are our top recommendations.

The History of the Jerusalem Sanctuary by Aref al-Aref
49

Aref al-Aref was a Palestinian politician, journalist, and historian who devoted most of his writing career to chronicling the history of Jerusalem and several of its sacred places.
Al-Aref was a meticulous writer who covered Palestine's socio-economic and geopolitical issues.
A meticulous writer who covered Palestine's socio-economic and geopolitical issues, al-Aref’s most famous work is his detailed account of the 1948 War's events that come in his seven-volume books, al-Nakba: Nakbat Bayt al-Maqdis wa-l-Firdaus al-mafqud (The Catastrophe: The Catastrophe of Jerusalem and the Lost Paradise), written in Arabic between 1956 and 1961, accurately and impartially detailed the events of war.

To understand Palestine in an accurate historical way, al-Aref’s book is a great place to start.

Imam and the Zionist allegations by Sheikh Ahmed El Tayeb

Grand Imam of al-Azhar, Ahmed El Tayeb, wrote a book in response to the false allegations and claims made by the zionists about Palestine.
In his book, the Grand Imam responds to 18 Zionist claims about the Palestinian issue, including:
There is no way to end the Zionist occupation of the Palestinian territories
Muslims are not advocates of peace
The Palestinians are the ones who sold their land to the Jews and the Jews bought it with their money.
The condition of the city of Jerusalem under Islamic and Arab rule did not differ from other eras as the city witnessed endless wars and bloodshed.

Sheikh Ahmed El Tayeb continues to defend Palestinian rights, refuting the lies told by Zionists claiming that the real terrorists are Muslims and stating that “We are advocates of peace, but it is peace based on justice, on respect, and loyalty.” With rights that do not accept buying, selling, or bargaining, a peace that does not know humiliation, subservience, or attacking an atom of the soil of the homelands or the sacred ones.”

The Great Disaster Of Palestine by Fakhri Al-Baroudi
27286169 (1)
Syrian politician, journalist, and poet, Fakhri Al-Baroudi, took his pen and wrote down his thoughts and wishes to the arab world, pleading for them to fight back, not to underestimate the enemy, and to preserve the land of Mohamed (peace be upon him), Eisa, (Peace Be Upon Him).
The book details Zionists’ agenda pre-1948, their actions, and end goals and states how it’s all a plan to divide Arabs.
It’s an interesting short read, yet it’s insightful and moving, to see how the power of pen and ink can convey many emotions and sorrow.

In light of recent events, parents are having a hard time explaining the current situation in Palestine to their children.
How can you explain a complicated situation filled with turbulent political manipulation, the death of innocent people to kids? There has been a rise in children's books dedicated to simplifying the situation in a way a kid would not only understand but feel empathy, sympathy, and curiosity.
One of these authors is Samah Abu Bakr, with her book “Umm Mansour and the Garden of Light” tells the tale of a woman whose son was martyred in war, after that, she started knitting wool sweaters for every child in the camps, and she knits, she listens to the children’s tales.
As bleak as the subject matter is, the book is made to help kids understand the Palestinian people's crisis.
