‘Four Daughters’ is shortlisted for the Oscars

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced shortlists in 10 categories, including best original song, documentary feature, international feature, original score, and crafts such as hair and make-up, visual effects and sound.

The Tunisian movie “Four Daughters” ( Banat Olfa) by Kaouther Ben Hania was shortlisted in the documentary and international feature categories.

The film looks at a mother who struggles with how her two eldest daughters who disappeared after being radicalised by ISIS.

The director introduced two actors who represented them, and allowed the mother and two sisters to interact with the actors. Superstar Hend Sabry portrays the mother in reenactment scenes.
