CAIRO – 20 July 2017: Room Art Space and Café, Garden City Cairo, will host the Shereen Abdo Project on Thursday, July 20, at 9:00 p.m.

The project mingles local music produced by Shereen with different genres like Genawa, Funk, Valse & Blues with a touch of Rock.

Its members are Mohamed Desouki- Oud, Dongol- Electric Guitar, Amro Ismael- Bass Guitar, Simo- Drums and Shereen Abdo- Vocal.

Shereen Abdo is an Egyptian singer and composer of different kinds of genres such as electronic, jazz, progressive rock, and metal. She reinvents folk music by breaking taboos and breaking new ground for contemporary Egyptian music.

After being invited on stage three years ago by chance, she left her career in media and music management to work with international musicians such as Sheikh Zein and Fathy Salama, and touring with bands like Habaybna.

Her first recorded single is a semi-improvised cover of Il-Esar by Said Darwich for Ahmed Nazmy’s album Ethbet Hala. Since 2011, she has participated in different concerts in public spaces.

She has launched an experimental project which was performed as the opening act of theHay festival at El Geneina theater.
