Sharm El-Sheikh International Theater Festival for Youth (SITFY), chaired by director Mazen El-Gharabawy, opens the door for participation in Abou Al-Hassan Sallam Competition for Scientific Research in its third edition. This competition is going to be held within the proceedings of the eighth edition of SITFY, scheduled to take place between (25-30) November.
 
SITFY’s president, director Mazen El-Gharabawy, stated that this competition aims at developing scientific research, granting opportunities to young researchers, discovering new paths for their thoughts and visions, and exploring new talents in research and theatrical studies for youth. The competition will also contribute to enriching the scientific content of Arab theater.
 
SITFY’s managing director, Dr. Engy El-Bestawy, announced the terms and conditions for taking part in Abou Al-Hassan Sallam Competition for Scientific Research, including: each research should not exceed 15,000 words and it should be presented in Arabic. Additionally, each research should not have received a similar award. The terms and conditions also include: the seriousness of topics, originality, seriousness of theories when it comes to approaching critical theatrical phenomena.
 
Furthermore, the terms and conditions include: paying attention to ingenuity and creativity when it comes to approaching the subject, searching for significant ways to review the outcomes, and clearly defining the method used in studying issues. It is also important to document the list of resources and review this through writing each resource in its original language, as well as in Arabic.
 
Moreover, the age of researchers must not exceed 40 by November, 2023. Egyptian and Arab researchers are welcome to apply for the Scientific Research Award. Besides, the number of research pages is about 50. The previously-published research will not be accepted.
 
SITFY opens the door for participation as of Monday, July 10, 2023. The deadline for receiving applications and thesis is Sunday, September 10, 2023. It is noteworthy that the prize of the Abou Al-Hassan Sallam Competition for Scientific Research is worth 8 thousand EGP. It is granted to a single winner who will be allowed to attend the events of the eighth edition, scheduled to take place between (25-30) November, 2023. The winner will be able to take part in one of the festival’s workshops. Additionally, the winner will receive a certificate from SITFY’s president that will be published in the festival’s magazine.
 
This year, SITFY bears the name of Dr. Samira Mohsen. Veteran actress Samiha Ayoub is SITFY’s honorary president, and veteran actor Mohamed Sobhy is the president of SITFY’s higher committee. Dr. Engy El-Bestawy is the managing director of SITFY. The festival is held under the auspices of the Minister of Culture, Dr. Nevine Al-Kilani and South Sinai Governor, Major-General Khaled Fouda.
