The BFI London Film Festival has announced the participation of the British film 'In Camera', starring Amir El-Masry, in the Sutherland competition.

The festival is scheduled to take place from October 4- 15.

'In Camera' is scheduled to screen on October 13th.

Amir El-Masry is expected to attend the film’s screening in London.

'In Camera' follows Aden, a young Actor who is in a cycle of nightmarish auditions.

After he receives multiple rejections, Aden takes it upon himself to find a new part to play.

Written and directed by Naqqash Khalid as his debut film as a director, 'In Camera' stars Amir El-Masry, Nabhaan Rizwan, Rory Fleck Byrne, and Hussina Raja.

It is worth mentioning that Amir El-Masry received positive critical acclaim for his role in the British film 'In Camera', which had its premiere at the 57th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival within the Proxima competition.

In Variety Magazine, Film Critic Guy Lodge wrote: “At a script level, In Camera perhaps has an excess of enticing ideas, some given more breathing room than others. In particular, an oblique subplot involving Bo’s own absent search for personhood feels unrealized both on its own terms and as a complement to Aden’s serpentine story - which is more successfully activated when he and Bo take on a third roommate. Played by a superb Amir El-Masry, capturing just the right balance between jockish and preening, vacuous menswear stylist Conrad is as loudly self-regarding as Aden is quietly, intently watchful - with a life that the young actor begins to believe he could play rather well.”

Elena Lazic wrote in Cineuropa; “Amir El-Masry is fascinating as the most conventionally behaved person in the film, but also the most artificial, a smooth fashion designer who orders food so often that it seems more like a lifestyle choice - a way to signal something - than a merely practical one. He is everything Aden is not, especially in his relation to the other roommate.”

Ben Nicholson, in The Film Verdict magazine, praised Amir El-Masry's performance, stating, “Aden and Bo take on a new flatmate, Conrad (an excellent Amir El-Masry), who’s a smooth-talker that works in fashion. His effortless charisma and apparent affluence are cast in stark relief to Aden’s quiet reserve.”
Amir El-Masry had previously announced his participation in the Irish series, Faithless. The events of the 6-episode comedy/drama Faithless tell the story of Zein (Amir El-Masry), an Egyptian-Irish young man who lives in Los Angeles. Circumstances push him to help his older brother in raising his daughters, but he faces crises in dealing with them. Faithless is written by Baz Ashmawy and directed by Declan Recks.

Recently, Amir El-Masry competed at the Official Competition in the 76th edition of Cannes Film Festival with director Jessica Hausner’s film Club Zero. This marks the second participation of star Amir El-Masry in the Cannes Film Festival, since his film Limbo.
